These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Discovery Bible (the “Service”), operated by H.E.L.P.S. Ministries (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Discovery Bible is a multi-tenant Bible study platform offering Scripture reading, word study, search, notes, highlights, and related discipleship tools. Features may vary by tenant (church or ministry partner) and by whether you are signed in.
We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice when practicable.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
If you use the Service on behalf of a church or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate applicable law or the rights of others
- Attempt to scrape, harvest, or bulk-export proprietary study content (including original-language definitions and gated study materials) without authorization
- Use the Service to train, fine-tune, or ground commercial AI systems with our proprietary content where prohibited by license or these Terms
- Interfere with security, authentication, or multi-tenant isolation
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
4. Intellectual property and Bible content
The Service, branding, software, and proprietary study materials are owned by H.E.L.P.S. Ministries or our licensors. Scripture translations and third-party study resources remain subject to their respective licenses and copyright notices displayed in the app.
Your personal notes and highlights remain yours. You grant us a limited license to host and display them solely to provide the Service to you within your tenant.
5. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Study tools, search results, and AI-assisted features may be incomplete or incorrect. The Service is not a substitute for pastoral counsel, professional advice, or your own study of Scripture.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, H.E.L.P.S. Ministries and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (USD $50), except where liability cannot be limited by law.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, security risk, or operational necessity.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the effective date on this page and, when changes are material, provide additional notice (for example in-app or by email) where required. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
